Do you do smog checks?
No, we do not perform smog checks, but we work with several smog check stations and can take your car to be smogged.
Will I get a price before work starts?

Classic car questions
Do you work on classic and vintage cars in Fullerton?
Yes. Cedillo's Classic & Auto Repair at 1010 W Commonwealth Ave services classic and vintage vehicles — Mustangs, Trans Ams, vintage trucks and other American classics — alongside everyday cars.
Can you find parts for my classic?
Yes. Tracking down hard-to-find parts is something customers specifically thank us for. Tell us the year, make and model and what you need.
My classic has been sitting. Can you get it running?
Often, yes. We start by inspecting fuel, ignition, brakes and fluids before trying to run it, then give you a clear plan and price.
Do you do full restorations or bodywork?
Call us to talk through your project. Rafael will tell you honestly what the shop can take on and what it will involve.
Service questions
Do you work on all makes and models?
Yes. We repair everyday cars, trucks and SUVs of all makes, and we also specialize in classic and vintage vehicles.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. We diagnose first, explain what we found, and give you the price before any repair begins. Nothing is done without your approval.
Why are my brakes squealing?
Squealing usually means worn pads hitting their wear indicator, glazed pads or rotors, or missing hardware. Grinding means metal-on-metal and needs attention right away.
How often should brakes be inspected?
Have them checked at least once a year and any time you hear noise, feel vibration or notice the pedal getting soft or low.
Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady and the car drives normally, get it checked soon. If it is flashing, the engine is misfiring — pull over safely and have it towed or call us.
Can you just read the code?
We can, but a code only names the system involved. We test to confirm the cause so you only pay for the part that fixes it.
What causes a clunk when I go over bumps?
Common causes are worn sway bar links, ball joints, control arm bushings or strut mounts. A lift inspection pinpoints which one.
Do I need an alignment after suspension work?
Usually yes. Replacing steering or suspension parts changes alignment, so we will tell you when one is needed.
How do I know my car needs a tune-up?
Rough idle, hard starting, misfires, hesitation and dropping fuel economy are the usual signs.
Do you work on carbureted classic engines?
Yes. Classic and carbureted engines are a big part of what we do — it's why the sign says Classic & Auto Repair.
Why is my car A/C blowing warm air?
Most often the system is low on refrigerant because of a leak. Other causes include a failed compressor clutch, a blocked condenser or an electrical fault.
Can you add A/C to a classic car?
Call us about your car. We will look at what it has now and talk through realistic options.
Why does my battery keep dying?
A weak battery, a charging problem or a parasitic drain from a component staying on. We test all three.
My car clicks but will not start. What is wrong?
Usually a weak battery, a poor connection or a failing starter. A quick test tells which.
Can I wait while you change my oil?
Yes — we have a customer lounge with seating, coffee and a TV. Call ahead so we can plan for you.
What should I do if my car overheats?
Pull over safely, turn the engine off and let it cool. Do not open a hot radiator cap. Call us and we will help you decide the safest way to get it here.
Is a small coolant leak a big deal?
It can become one fast. Small leaks grow, and running low on coolant risks overheating damage.
